Scenic Private Ranch Rides
If you want to go on a Montana adventure, but don’t have the time or inclination to pack into the backcountry, we have a solution. Join us for a fantastic horseback adventure on one of several private land ranches in the Big Timber area. These ranches offer multiple terrains which provide for a scenic horseback adventure. Our guides are experienced, knowledgeable and personable. Treat yourself to a great adventure!

Dates: May – August weather permitting.
Trip length: Two hours typically but can be customized to client requests. All rides begin early due to the summer heat.
Pricing: Based on the number of riders, ranch location and time in the saddle. Group discounts for 6 or more riders.
For private property owners: We can trailer horses to your ranch for your family and guests to enjoy a guided horseback ride. Great for weddings and special events! (Minimum of 4 people please.) Pricing includes ride fee, trailer fee and travel fee.
Horseback riding lessons available upon request.
Saddle & Paddle: As an additional option, you might choose to ride for 2 hours in the morning and float the Yellowstone River for 2 hours in the afternoon. The trip allows time between the raft and the ride for lunch on your own in Big Timber.
Note: Floating the river now requires a conservation license. It must be purchased in advance of your trip. You can purchase it online or at the Fort in Big Timber.

From Bozeman take Interstate 90 to Big Timber. Take the 1st
Big Timber Exit and go left under I 90 to the light. *
From Billings take I 90 to Big Timber. Take the 2nd Big Timber
Exit and go right to the light. *
*At the light turn left on the frontage road. You will be heading west. Go approximately one mile. Turn right at the first place you can cross the railroad tracks. Cross the railroad tracks and follow the ranch road to the brown barn
Please Note
Your Google Map App will try to direct you to Greycliff. Make sure you use our instructions on the website or you may end up in Greycliff. Take a picture of them from the website and then you will have them on your phone. We are trying to remedy this with Google Maps but it apparently takes time.
Or…use your apple map or waze. It will take you to the correct location.
Deposit & Payment Policy
Reservations are required to guarantee your trip. To book a reservation, we require a credit card number. Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel at least 48 hours before your trip. We won’t charge your card until your scheduled trip time. Please remember, you must call in time to cancel or change your reservation or we will charge your card for the deposit.
